Where the Wild Things Are (2009)

After Max has sailed over a year and in and out of weeks and through a day (twice), after he’s roared his terrible roar and gnashed his terrible teeth, after the wild rumpus has begun and ended, after Max has become lonely and wanted to be where someone loved him best of all, after all of that, his mother sits at the kitchen table with him and watches him eat soup. Sometime I think that’s the best thing I can do for my kids: be the loving watcher, the provider of soup.
